happy new year
my super fabulous two week vacation from school was much needed. the bunch of bananas i have this year seem to really take a toll on my nervous system. i mean 'bunch of bananas' in the most endearing way possible.
today they were all wanting to talk about the tsunami. most called it the 'sue-tuh-nami' and other various pronunciations. we had a 'class meeting' at the start of the day so they could all talk about what they got for christmas. a little guy choked up as he told us his cat DIED on CHRISTMAS. 'holy crap that sucks' is what i was thinking but i promise i said something much more teacher like in response.

i always feel guilty when i write an entry about my students. like i'm totally kathy lee gifford-ing out or something.
